대구사진비엔날레는 2006년에 시작되어 올해 제10회를 맞이합니다. 국내 최대 사진 행사인 대구사진비엔날레는 20주년을 맞아 현재 사진계에서 가장 영향력 있는 전문가들을 섭외하여 포트폴리오 리뷰를 개최합니다. 포트폴리오 리뷰는 국내외 사진 전문가(리뷰어)와 사진 작가들이 작품에 대한 의견을 나누는 만남과 연결의 장입니다.

2025대구사진비엔날레 포트폴리오 리뷰는 명망 있는 학예연구사, 갤러리 디렉터, 사진미술관 관장, 평론가 등 전문 리뷰어를 초청하였습니다. 우수 포트폴리오로 선정된 4명에게는 제11회 2027대구사진비엔날레 우수 포트폴리오 전시 참여 기회를 드립니다. 사진‧영상‧미디어를 기반으로 작업 활동을 하는 작가들의 많은 관심과 참여를 바랍니다.

접수 일정

• 접수기간 : 2025. 7. 10. - 7. 27. (7.27. 18:00까지 제출)
• 선정결과 발표 : 2025. 8. 7. (선정자 개별연락)
• 매칭 결과발표 : 2025. 8. 13.

리뷰 일정

• 행사기간 : 2025. 9. 20. (토)
• 행사시간 : 10:00 - 19:30 (오픈 포트폴리오 17:20 - 19:00)
• 행사장소 : 엘디스 리젠트 호텔(대구광역시 중구 달구벌대로 2033)
• 리뷰어 매칭
  • 참여작가 1인당 4인의 리뷰어와 리뷰 진행(신청서에 기재한 희망 리뷰어 1순위부터 5순위까지의 우선순위를 고려하여 최대한 매칭, 우선순위 외의 리뷰어가 배정될 수 있습니다.)
  • 리뷰어 1인당 25분씩, 4명의 리뷰어에게 리뷰 진행
• 리뷰어 : 10명 (해외 6명, 국내 4명)
• 참여대상 : 사진·영상·미디어를 기반으로 하는 시각예술작가
• 참가인원 : 30명 (해외 4명 이내, 해외 선정자에게 포트폴리오 리뷰 참여 외에 추가적인 항공, 숙박 등의 지원 없음)
• 예비인원 : 3명 (예비로 선정된 사람은 취소자에게 배정되었던 리뷰어가 배정될 수 있음)
• 참가비 : 20만원 (대학 학부 재학생의 경우 15만원, 선정시 재학증명서 제출 필요)

2025 Daegu Photo Biennale Portfolio Review
Application information

Launched in 2006, the Daegu Photo Biennale is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. As Korea’s largest photography event, the Biennale is marking its 10th anniversary by hosting portfolio reviews featuring some of the most influential professionals in the field of photography today. The portfolio review program serves as a platform for meaningful exchange and connection between photographers and leading domestic and international experts.

The 2025 Daegu Photo Biennale Portfolio Review will invite distinguished curators, gallery directors, museum directors, and critics as reviewers. Four outstanding portfolios will be selected and awarded the opportunity to participate in a special exhibition as part of the 11th Daegu Photo Biennale in 2027. We warmly welcome the interest and participation of artists working in photography, video, and media-based practices.

Schedule of registration

• Date of registration : July 7 – July 27, 2025 (Submissions due by July 27, 18:00)
• Date of selection announcement : August 7, 2025 (Selected participants will be contacted individually)
• Date of matching result announcement : August 13, 2025

Schedule of reviews

• Date of event : September 20, 2025 (SAT)
• Hours : 10:00 ⁓ 18:30 (Open Portfolio 17:20 ⁓ 19:00)
• Location : Eldis Regent Hotel (2033, Dalgubeol-daero 522-gil, Suseong-gu, Daegu)
• Assignment of reviewers
  • Each participating artist will meet with four reviewers. Reviewer assignments will be made based on the applicant’s stated preferences (from 1st to 5th choice) as much as possible, but assignments may include reviewers outside of the listed preferences.
  • Each participant will receive a 25 minute review from four different reviewers.
• Reviewers : total of 10 (6 foreign reviewers and 4 Korean reviewers)
• Participants : Visual artists working with photography, video and other media
• Number of participants : total of 30 (four or fewer individuals from overseas, no additional support such as airfare or accommodation will be provided beyond participation in the portfolio review.)
• Participation fee: 200,000 KRW(150,000 KRW for undergraduate students - proof of enrollment must be submitted upon selection)
• Korean interpretation for international reviewers will be provided
• Support for the selected best portfolios
  • Invitation to the 10th 2025 Daegu Photo Biennale and catalog production

  • After downloading the 2025Portfolio Review_Application form and Portfolio (ppt), convert into PDF and upload through the Google Form (File name : 2025 Portfolio Review_Application form_Applicant Name)
  • Please prepare your portfolio in a free-form format, with a maximum of 30 pages, and for video or media work, please embed viewable links within your portfolio pages instead of submitting the actual video files.
